It's been a couple of years since we've burst firecrackers on Deepavali. I began to loose interest but M used to insist that we burst, maybe to keep the practise alive. Earlier when we were small, we used to burst crackers on all the three days of the festival both in the morning and in the evening. We used to vie for them, Sacks of firecrackers were bought into the house when it was full.

As i pass stalls selling firecrackers on the eve of this year's Deepavali, i see banners declaring discounts up to 70%. If that is indeed the case, do the manufacturers make some profit out of their business? I don't know how this funda works.
