We are so fond of science fiction, aren't we? Especially the ones forecasting a very technically advanced future, machines galore, zipping on those oh so nice! freeways seated in one of those most fantastic transporters. To say that the 21st century will bring technology to mankind like it never would have sorts. Those Jurassic Parks, The War of the Worlds, The Bicentennial Man, Transformers.

Can one actually believe that such a day (during this century) would arrive which appears to be even per say 10% similar as projected by such stories?

As for the 2012 hype, the Mayan civilization does not predict anything beyond that year. Nothing is mentioned by them after this particular period of time. And we have our Indian astrologers speaking of the world coming to an end around 2012. What's Indian astrology to do with that of the Mayan's? And i get the feeling that at least half of this group wouldn't have heard of the Mayan civilization.
