Of the different things that i miss of Bangalore, food occupies a position right at the top.
Vegetable cutlets from Chalukya; dose, idly, sambhar, bisibele bhath and dumroot from MTR; dose from Vidhyarthi Bhavan; soan papdi, rasmalai, samosas from K. C. Das; the bhajjis and bondas from V V Puram; Gandhi Bazaar; uddin vades and sambhar from NMH; tea from MTR, Roti Ghar and Brahmins Coffee Bar; shavige bhath from SLV; chats from VV Puram and Mishra Pedha; Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, jolad rotti , engayi with benne from Kamat Yatrinivas; mango milkshake, egg and chicken patties from Koshy's and Nilgiris; basundi from New Arya Bhavan, Avenue Road, carrot halwa and besan laddoo from Sri Rama Vilas Sweets; fish at Kudla; chicken at Imperial and indo-chinese at Chungs. Savouries from Maiyyas , Mishra Pedha, Shri Krishna Sweets and Sri Rama Vilas Sweets. And some more i guess, i don't remember..
I miss Mother's ghee and most of the food cooked at home. But this isn't new. When i was in Mysore, i used to come home once in a fortnight or so and still eat some of this. It's been a year since i left Bangalore now
